15-year-old Petya Tsanova with almost perfect measures 92-62-92 became "Miss Velingrad 2002" at the beauty contest held on April 11 (Thursday) in the community center "Otets Paisii" in the district. Ludjene. Her runners-up became Nina Chopeva (85-65-95) at 15. and Katya Ananieva (88-65-95) at 16. The three beauties fought off the competition of nine other participants - all of them passed through the school for mannequins at the Prestige Fashion Agency, which together with Oriflame organized the show. An additional award was given to the audience, who also won Petya Tsanova. The winner, in addition to a crown, received a modest cash prize, a set of cosmetics from Oriflame and most importantly - an upcoming participation in the Miss Bulgaria 2003 contest.
The contenders for the crown marched in three rounds: in swimsuits, in everyday clothing and in evening outfit, and the ranking of the participants was carried out by a jury composed of: Georgi Turpomanov - representative of the Fashion Agency "Prestige", Magdalena Bizeva - director of the Center for Work with Children, Nikolay Stoynov - journalist in the newspaper "Tempo News", Blagoslava Zisova - Miss Velingrad for 2001. In determining the ranking, the jury complied with three main criteria: physical data, person and stage presence.
The winner Petya studied in a language class at Secondary School "Cyril and Methodius", and in her free time she likes to listen to music and walk with friends. Visibly excited after the show specifically for Tempo newspaper, she stated: "I am very surprised by what happened to me today, I did not expect at all, especially that I won not one but two awards. The surprise, however, is pleasant."
A very strong start to the show was given by Oriflame's girls, who, to the sounds of Joe Cocker's erotic "You can leave your hat on" as well as the high-profile dance "Can't stop" of the guests in the Slavi Deja-vu Show, stirred the frozen audience in the freezing temperatures of the community center.
After the end of the show, it became clear about a small gaffe on the organization, after the representative of jeans "Benson" for Velingrad did not provide the necessary clothes for the second gorge, which forced the girls to present themselves with their own clothes, the main organizer Georgi Turpomanov announced indignantly.
