At the meeting of the Council of Ministers last weekend in Hissarya it was decided that since 2003 Velingrad passes into the so-called. "Third group" for the patent tax. This means that starting next year, all artisans, traders, taxi drivers and others who pay a patent will pay less.
The change affects the cities of Sandanski, Hisarya and Velingrad, which so far in terms of patents for some activists have been equated with super-expensive international resorts such as Albena, Golden Sands, Borovets, etc. The relocation of Velingrad to a lower group for the patents took place at the personal proposal of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Labour and Social Welfare Lydia Shuleva. Ms. Shuleva has put forward a number of arguments to convince her colleagues from the Council of Ministers about the change. The news reported a v. "Tempo" the municipal coordinator of NDSV Nadezhda Klyuchkova.
The inclusion of Velingrad in the "third group" on patent taxes is about to solve the main problem of local craftsmen, merchants and people from the service sphere. The problem arose with particular sharpness in 1997-98, when because of the high patents in Velingrad there were mass protests. The resolution was promised to involve MPs and ministers. But things dragged on over time as it came to reducing this type of tax only for certain activities. Meanwhile, some of those working in the sector stopped registering and paying a patent. I hope this time the change won by Minister Lydia Shouleva to fully protect the interests of the small local business, because this will benefit both consumers and the treasury. The exact values of the patents will become clear with the adoption of the state budget for 2003.
