Despite the match, the Bulgaria-Croatia Hall of ONC "Father Paisii" proved small for all who came to celebrate together with Master Dimitar Mechev and his musicians, together with Bilyana Maslarova and her cheerleaders the 40th anniversary of Representative Youth Brass Orchestra Velingrad - our emblem in front of Bulgaria and Europe. Dr. Stefka Shalamanova-Maslarova recalled the long-standing activity of the orchestra, the numerous participations and awards from Europe. "A path of continuous rise" she called the time of the past 40 years.
"Your city can rightly be proud of these young people" said in the congratulatory address of the President of the Republic Georgi Parvanov. As an "example of patriotism and dedication" he has defined the work of the orchestra and its founder and conductor Dimitar Mechev Prime Minister Simeon Saxkuborggotsky. In the congratulatory address of Vrid Mayor Atanas Vodev, read by Deputy Mayor Tanya Goncheva, it is said: "Thank you for the beauty you bring into our lives. I am proud of the fact that the orchestra is the first Bulgarian brass orchestra to win the title of "Privenets" at the European competition in Karlslue-Germany." In addition to a basket of flowers, the municipality also gave the jubilees a CD set. Greeting addresses were read by the Minister of Culture and Tourism Nina Chilova, by the commander of the National Guard Regiment. Krum Alexandrov, from the Municipal Council-Velingrad, by prof. Zheni Zaharieva, from the Mayor of Pazardzhik Ivan Evstatiev, from Sergey Stanishev and Georgi Pirinski from BSP, from UDF-Velingrad, from the Director of SOU "St. Cyril and Methodius" Maria Polezhenska, from the Mayor of Kostandovo, from ONCH "Vasil Levski"-Velingrad, from the community centers of Draginovo and Kostandovo.
On behalf of the parents congratulations and wishes to Maestro Mechev and the musicians presented Lilyana Shalamanova. "Not only Velingrad, but the whole of Bulgaria stands up to applaud you" with these words addressed to the conductor and orchestra Valentin Miltenov, a candidate MP from the NDSV on his own behalf and on behalf of the regional governor Ivan Dimitrov, who also attended the celebration and gave the jubilees a basket of flowers and a fax. "We cannot imagine Velingrad without our orchestra and our cheerleaders" - with these words began her congratulation Ekaterina Kaferinova, a candidate-deputy from the BNS and continued: "Velingrad entered Europe 40 years ago through you, now it is the turn of Bulgaria." Mr. Mechev listened with much excitement and often with tears in his eyes to the numerous greetings. Today's graduates of the orchestra performed a concert worthy of the jubilee, in the final of which, together with performers from the City Choir, sounded as recognition and wishes "Mnogaya summers". Until dawn the next day continued the fiesta at the Chinarite restaurant. Improvised big-band of former and current musicians played without fatigue and proved that the "Music of Mechev" is a real school and what was learned here leaves a mood and love for music for life. 40 years is not enough for such an orchestra - the future is his!
