The 240 MPs have made 866 inquiries within Friday's parliamentary scrutiny. 44 of these queries (that's a little more than 5%) belong to the Pazardzhik MP from ODS Panayot Lyakov. If each of his colleagues had asked questions with the same activity, ministers would have had to answer more than 10,000 queries. Therefore, with full reason, at his regular press conference on the first Monday of July in Velingrad, Mr. Lyakov said that he had kept an active parliamentary presence. The MP submitted 4 bills and made proposals to 18 others. As personal achievements P. Lyakov outlined his master's degree in human resources management and development, which he had just graduated from NBU.
"There is mutual trust between me and the voters; even members of the BSP are looking for me on certain problems because it turned out that many of the other MPs stopped meeting their voters and went only to cocktails and openings of sites for which they have no merit," said P. Lyakov. As a personal loss, he appreciated what happened with the Sutka project, "buried by NMSS and DPS". Mr. Lyakov also commented on the absence of official guests from the holiday of Velingrad July 3. According to him, this is an irreverent attitude on the part of the invited, because this is not a celebration of Beev, but of the residents of Velingrad and the municipality and with the presence is expressed respect for people. Regarding the shaken positions of many mayors and the desire of the prosecution to limit their rights, Mr. Lyakov said that the cases with the different mayors cannot be put under a common denominator. It's not the law that's to blame for the cases that happen. When there is damage to the interests of the municipality and this is proved unconditionally, it is clear that the mayor will undergo sanctions, including new elections. With the majority election, the mayor has many rights, but he also has a great responsibility, the MP summarized.
