A group of members of the Supreme Council of the BSP met with supporters from Velingrad on June 24 at the Art Gallery. Krasimir Premyanov, Yuri Borisov, Vanya Dobreva, Georgi Hadzhiyski, Ivan Zhelyazkov, Dimitar Stoychev came to present the magazine "New Time" and discuss current political topics. Yuri Borisov, who is the editor-in-chief of the magazine, outlined the main topics in the new issue. The emphasis is on the topic of how in 14 years Bulgaria has collapsed, developed by Vasil Prodanov, who cited the quality of our political elite as the reason. The other topic is the European Union, as Yuri Borisov was adamant that there is a big discrepancy between the opinions of experts and the political agenda of the society.
Krassimir Premyanov opposed the school of the now ruling politicians, who argued that Bulgaria could not make an independent foreign policy. The issue of Bulgaria's membership in the EU should be resolved through a referendum by the people, and now everything is going in some big secret. Because of the unclear commitments in winning the elections, we are doomed to a policy that stops the flight of Bulgaria, poetically expressed Krasimir Premyanov and characterized the situation with the metaphor "We have to get into a harness with fast horses, but with limited opportunities." For him, the problems come from the fact that we are leaders as a state that has freed itself from its property thanks to the right. Therefore, governments have no significant resource and only collect and redistribute taxes. Premyanov expressed concern about the organizational status of the BSP, which now has 201,000 members, but 85% of them are of retirement age, and one 1400 are students. The data shows that more than 15% of former BSP MPs have left the party. In order to get out of the crisis, centralism in the BSP should be reduced and people should know that they are actually involved in decision-making.
Quite sobering sounded what Vanya Dobreva said that BSP has a significant generational problem that the young do not recognize this party as their own and the distance between them and BSP is increasing. One of the reasons is that the young are a product of manipulation through the educational system, but the BSP is silent and does nothing to rehabilitate the big names of our cultural memory. Another reason is that the BSP does not give an estimate of 15 years. transition, nor does it say what its involvement is in draining and plundering the economy with the "red briefcases". In the minds of young people, BSP is associated with failure and unfashionability, said Mrs. Dobreva. In turn, the youth organizations of the party are concerned with themselves and with a desire for a political career. Unlike in Western Europe, where youth left-wing organizations organized anti-war rallies in Iraq, in Bulgaria this does not happen. Vanya Dobreva believes that this is because the left itself has not clearly indicated whether it is against or for the war. We cannot defend one position on events in Serbia and another on Iraq, this confuses young people, she stressed.
The speech of D. Stoychev was on the subject of security. He believes that in the process of globalization we are assigned a place in the dump of the "big village". Those who ruled us in 1992 and 1997-2001 are criminals, Mr. Stoychev said and gave as an example that with an "overall predatory approach" they have created channels through customs and are in affluence.
BSP is also to blame for this state of Bulgaria, said Georgi N. Pashov, who pointed out that he supports left-wing ideas, but the BSP is not his party. He addressed the guests from the BSP's military, saying that the responsibility hurt and reminded them that when they pushed the mausoleum of G. Dimitrov, they were all at sea.
Yuri Borisov had to remind that the meeting is not pre-election and the guests are here not in their role as politicians, but as political analysts.
