On February 18, at the initiative of the Historical Museum in our city opened a unique for Bulgaria workshop for writing Easter eggs. Its first members were students from 4, 5 and 6 grade of the Velingrad schools and Draginovo. The opening of the studio is a "dream come true" of the ethnologist Georgi Kumanov and of the sponsor P. Rusev. The children will be trained in the technique of writing eggs under the expert guidance of the teacher of fine art at Secondary School "V. Levski "Krstyo Michev and the masters of our city. The atelier will work every Thursday and Friday for 1 hour for 10 weeks - until Easter. The learned will be shown at the already established tradition "Exhibition of Easter eggs". Here is what the two main "culprits" shared about the creation of the atelier:
Georgi Kumanov: The aim of the atelier is through a series of activities the children of our city and region to learn the old-fashioned technique of writing eggs, because the tradition must continue. They will also study the techniques of other peoples - Germans, Slovaks, Czechs and Serbs, who make Easter eggs with straw. Our intentions are this studio to work over the years and this is the reason why we invite the children from the "small" classes to be his first students.
Peter Rusev: My profession is to make egg dye, and my goal is the tradition to continue and develop. Velingrad is a resort and tourist city and I believe that in the future the written eggs of Velingrad will be our trademark not only in Bulgaria but also around the world.
