This December Velingrad is an example that along with the familiar congress, cultural, rural, etc. Tourism in the days before Christmas is born and a new form - banquet tourism.
Many private companies can afford to reward their employees with a banquet for the holidays, but banquet tourism thrives mostly thanks to government departments. Literally every day some ministry, agency, inspection gathers for a "work meeting" in one of the hotels in Velingrad - possibly with more stars because state money is being spent. In the last ten days alone, the National Revenue Agency, the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, the General Labour Inspectorate together with 28 district inspections took place. Behind definitions such as "work meeting", "seminar", "session", however, lies the well-known official banquet. It is no coincidence that no information about the media comes out of most such forums.
However, the local tourism-related economy is operating at full speed. The hotels are full, the restaurants are packed with rich tables, there is a free spectacle every night - fireworks that prepare us for the big New Year's Eve break. Local ensembles also win, who are often invited to deliver a program for guests.
The municipality will not be left behind by the festive partying assault and a tight banquet for December 21.
