Belovtsi do not give their municipal forests in VAT "Alabac"

17.09.2002 16:30 •
On September 13 this year. The municipal council of Belovo voted a declaration against the order of the Ministry of Agriculture, which established the State Game Farm Station "Alabak". The Alabac VAT formation has been in effect since 2 September 2002. The new structure is the successor of State Forestry "Velingrad", but occupies a significantly larger area, including from the region of Belovo. Belovtsi are against their municipal forests to be included in the VAT "Alabak" - Velingrad. In addition to the declaration of the local parliament, they will seek other forms to defend their position.

A day before, on September 12, at the National Forest Management (NWG) in Sofia, an interview was held with three candidates for the post of director of the State Game Station "Alabak". Prior to the conversion of DL "Velingrad" into VAT "Alabak" was announced a competition for director of forestry with certain requirements for the candidates. After the transformation, this competition was cancelled and a date for interviewing the candidates for director of VAT "Alabac" was set. Despite expectations that nearly 10 candidates will fight for the directorship, Eng. Valentin Mechev, Eng. Geno Peev and Eng. Slavcho Metanov - all three with long experience in the system and with authoritative management positions in their biographies. The Head of the Regional Forest Management - Pazardzhik Eng. Ivan Kormushev announced details of the competition on September 13. The chairman of the committee was Eng. Stoyko Belkov, Director of the Management Directorate at NUG, and members - experts from NUG. 3 main topics were selected for the interview: hunting and fishing, legal case, forest management and protection. The Commission has ranked first after an excellent performance in the interview the current director of DL "Velingrad" Eng. Geno Peev. After him are ranking Eng. Mechev and Eng. Metanov, reported by RUG - Pazardzhik. It is expected that Agriculture Minister Mehmed Dikme, who signs the appointment order, will comply with the commission's opinion. There will be more clarity after September 16, when all directors of the forestry system gather in Sofia in anticipation of orders for appointment or reassignment under the new legal requirements.
