Nearly 1 million leva has been requested and received by the municipality of Velingrad from the Fund "Stream Disasters" for the first five months of 2005. Until 30 May 2005.
The state fund has allocated funds for the following sites in our municipality:
* drainage channel in Anezitsa, demolition of a rock bank on ul. "Eighth March" and two waterfalls - 80 582 leva
* retaining wall on ul. "Kiril Pavlov" - 6 862 leva
* restoration of the roof and damage to the school and Youth House in Sarnitsa - 50 547 leva * strengthening of the Orlino - Sarnitsa road - 436 505 leva
* roof and damage to the community center in the district. Chepino and retaining wall on ul. "Edelweiss" - 40 760 leva
* roof and damage to Edelweiss kindergarten and retaining wall on ul. Borov Park - 53,396 leva
* recovery of damages from precipitation of streets in Bukov dol - 296 872 levs
* damage to streets in Copper meadows and roads for Sharentsi and Goreltsi - 23 461 leva.
Currently, projects totaling 82,870 leva are being worked on: snowmelt and rain damage in Bozevo, Gorno Dabevo, Yundola, Sarnitsa, Pobit stone; strengthening and drainage of the road to Grashevo, retaining walls on Str. "Mark Rocks" in Velingrad.
The municipality is also ready with projects for more sites, but after the torrential rains and floods weeks ago, it is likely that from the Fund "Stylish Disasters" will allocate priority money for the most affected regions, among which Velingrad fortunately was not.
