There is no rich craftsman, but there is no hungry

Mrs. Nina Slavova has a tailoring studio in TPC Progress (Promcombinata). We looked for it to tell if it was easy to be a craftsman - both before and today under the new economic conditions and patents: "
On May 16, I will be 39 years old since I came to live in Velingrad. All my work experience - the one I retired with is 27 years and all as a seamstress and all in the "Promcombinata". And now I've been here for four years. Even though I'm retired, I keep sewing. You'll ask me why. The correct answer is because I can still do it, because I like to sew, but also because my pension is small and money is not enough. But that last one, about the money, we all know that. I am such a person, instead of "hanging" in front of "Social Care" and waiting to be given aids and money, which equally needy, and more than me, have earned, I prefer to work. And I'll work as long as I can, and then whatever comes to him. I want to share that in recent years I have been very worried because I think that tailoring services will die down. People are getting poorer, less and less sewing new clothes. And taxes are getting bigger, and it is increasingly difficult for an honest craftsman to remain honest with the state. But I will say again: who as he is learned. If I see that I can't pay my dues, I'll stop. But I won't hide, I can't, it's beneath my dignity. I remember how in the summer of 1960 (then I was IX for the X class) I enrolled the tailoring courses at the Comprehensive Services in Plovdiv. Old people say that "There is no rich craftsman, but there is no hungry one" so that I have a craft - one does not know what the LIFE of a man has prepared. It turned out that with the "needle" I would make my bread and I do not regret. After 3 years, I also completed the courses at the Center for New Goods and Fashion (CNSM) and eventually defended the 7th division as well. This must mean nothing to the young, but they must know that we have lived and worked under other conditions which they do not know. It's been our life and we like to talk about it. I want to tell the young, because the future is theirs, that one must never forget the good, one must never forget what others have done for him. I say this because I want to thank Tina Savova - the seamstress, the master, who for me is the beginning of my professional life. She taught me the most important thing: how to make a beautiful and comfortable garment from one piece of cloth, she taught me how to make a transformation and a line of the garment. Years ago you used to sew a lot, for every holiday - an outfit. Tina used to send us home in the middle of the night to get the last outfits. Young people probably do not know that there was a time when the glory of "little Paris" was brought to Velingrad, because women and girls were very fashionable dressed. And now it is so: it may be that clothes are "second-hand", but because of the fabric, color, etc. women buy them and come to us for adjustments and we make them. We have been visited by all kinds of customers, including foreigners, and we have been told "Throw out only the bad in the organization of your work, but do not stop, sew!". I, as you can see, don't stop. And now come in the summer foreigners from Macedonia and Israel - regular customers, satisfied with the work, and the prices of services with us are lower. It is true, however, that there is no resort, but on the other hand we have high unemployment and very difficult to work during these years. We craftsmen need good tax conditions (I am talking about our city) so that people can work calmly and calmly to pay their taxes. We are neither Sofia nor Varna, and as much as we want to, we will not be able to endure, because craftsmen besides a patent pay rent, etc. Unemployment and lack of resort - this is our city, but we are on the tariffs for a "national resort". I believe that taxes should be approached for each settlement specifically, not how many inhabitants it is and what it was years ago. I will tell you that there were days and a whole week without a "sefte", without a single customer. You ask me why I keep sewing then, especially since I'm also a pensioner. I will tell you: because I am satisfied with myself, I am satisfied with my craft, it helps people to feel beautiful and liked. My formula for the satisfaction and satisfaction of my work? It is very simple, it combines a lot of labor + a lot of fantasy + a lot of desire, even if it implies using and at hand means. The most important thing is that the client and the master are satisfied."
