The municipal council decided to redirect 50,000 leva, which were voted for the conversion of the old working dormitory in front of the municipal hospital in the DCC. Money is more needed to repair the kitchen, as there is an unfulfilled 2 years prescription from RIOCOZ, and if no measures are taken now, the entire kitchen block will have to be closed.
This was the only solution for a municipal hospital (and with an under-precedented text), given that the situation there is getting more severe from day to day. At the end of the working day on Monday, October 28, the accounts of the hospital in Unicredit-Bulbank were blocked. The distraint was imposed by the majority owner of the medical complex "Zdrave" Dr. Mikhail Tikov because of outstanding debts of the municipal hospital to "Bulfarma" and "DKC-1". The collective of "MHAT-Velingrad" in a special declaration announced that the claims of Dr. Tikov are wrongful and are a new attempt to interfere with the municipal hospital.
Before the Committee on Education and Health, the manager of "MHAT-Velingrad" Dr. Tashev insisted the municipality to take urgent measures, in the fastest way to make a separation protocol for the former polyclinic. It was announced to the committee that a proposal for a public-private partnership for the hospital was also made by Hospital "Hygia" - Pazardzhik. The councillors and the chairman declared support for the municipal hospital, but it remained only in words.
At the press conference after the session c. "Tempo" asked a question to the chairman of the Municipal Council Mustafa Djambaz what happened with his promise from August already in September the municipal hospital to have an appointed controller. We did not receive a specific answer, according to Mr. Jambaz, this could have happened already at the upcoming extraordinary session. No specific answer remained and our question when the Municipal Council will discuss and adopt the decisions on which the future of the hospital really depends like that for raising the authorized capital. The ball was transferred to the Municipal Administration, without which, according to Snezhana Veleva, this Gordian knot could not be untied.
An emergency meeting of the health committee is expected, as well as a meeting between Mayor Eve. Lebanov and Dr. Tikov.
