The Bulgarian Republican Bloc (BRB) coalition overtook the Supreme Court's decision, announcing a few days earlier that it supported Fidel Beev as a candidate for the post of mayor of Velingrad. The coalition includes the parties OBT with leader Krastyo Petkov, NDPS with leader Guner Tahir and NS-BZNS with leader Yane Yanev.
The three leaders came to Velingrad, met with representatives of the association "For a stable place of self-government" and hurried to Pazardjik, where at a press conference they announced their support for Mr. Beev as a candidate mayor. Although publicized in the regional city, the position of the leaders of BDB was quite commented on in Velingrad. The most often mentioned name was of the former trade unionist and current MP Krastyo Petkov. It is a pity that Mr. Petkov did not wish to meet with us in order to help us in solving our social problems, employees of Stroycom said threatened with liquidation and dismissal.
