Dear fellow citizens and residents of the municipality of Velingrad, We are only a few days away from the end of another past year. We stand on the threshold of the forthcoming with new expectations for a better life and well-being.
Many starry moments, shattered illusions, and unfulfilled hopes have preserved the memory of mankind in its thousand-year history. More important for us humans, however, is that despite the trials of fate and difficulties, we are not and do not remain deaf to what is happening around us, we do not live in loneliness, but united, stronger and ready for new challenges.
In our municipality, located on lands bearing the marks of ancient cultures and glorious past, live smart, awake and capable people. We all need very simple things - secure work, bread and confidence for the good future of our children. All this in harmony can only be achieved by a community of like-minded, educated and progressive people. Let us turn with hope to the able, knowledgeable and educated to create conditions for development and progress, to change the vision of our municipality and to provide for it a proper place on the map of Bulgaria. Let's wish for a wiser time and a new morality! On New Year's Eve, let's ask for more security for our children, more bread for the poor and wisdom for the ruling and the rich to turn into opportunities for many more people! May 2005 be peaceful, healthy and successful for the world, for Bulgaria and for the municipality of Velingrad!
