A few days after the opening of the campaign with the participation of five MPs and members of the senior management of the MRF, Ahmed Dogan arrived in Velingrad personally along with his deputy Emel Etem, Deputy Minister of Ecology Fatme Iliaz, MP Ali Imamov, Dogan's Chief of Cabinet Ahmed Ilin and COB member Kamen Kostadinov. For the first time on the eve of local elections, DPS made a similar landing in Velingrad, where guests were welcomed in the crowded large hall of the municipality.
The candidate for mayor of the municipality of Velingrad from the MRF Nejat Kehayov opened the meeting with a speech in which he pointed out that here the MRF has an established place of second political power and laid out his vision for the development of the city and the region. He pointed out the imbalance in the social situation of the people in the city and in the villages, in some of which there is still no normal electricity, water supply and roads, and the unemployment rate is 80%. Mr. Kehayov expressed confidence that this time in the elections in Velingrad there will be no ethnic vote like in 1999, although some are making efforts to inflame hostilities. Not only ethnicities and religions are intertwined here, but also interests, but for 4 years. The MRF proved to be a tolerant and capable political force, the candidate mayor said.
Today, DPS fights for economic freedom and people's well-being, creates opportunities for the initiative and those who know and can, F said. Ilyaz and promised the help of MOEW. Assoc. Imamov predicted that when the DPS stands behind the mayor, he will have no problems. Very emotional was the statement of Emel Etem, who expressed bitterness that there is only one woman on the list for DPS advisers and stressed that the current situation (6 councillors out of 29) in her opinion is unsatisfactory. We will stand behind the mayor, the central government will cooperate, with a good team and thoughtful program plus the natural resources we will make sure that you live as white people in your settlement, promised Mrs. Etem.

It is true that without the DPS, any party will not risk ruling. There were attempts, but they ended badly.
Years ago we had a conversation about the capsules, about the confinement of the DPS, including in Velingrad. Then I gave a thought: very rarely will you knock on the door to enter politics - you will break it down, you will enter through the window or through the ceiling, if necessary - you will dig tunnels. This worked: today in 111 municipalities DPS raises its candidates young people.
The MRF underwent a substantial change based on criteria for representative people in power. In the first stage we raised people authoritative and pure, in the second - unifying personalities. We are now looking for people in a new way open to the world, to have a vision for development from the point of view of European realities: to know the European funds, to have a pre-emptive thinking relative to the average echelon, to have no difference between their thinking and that of the mayor of Brussels, for example. Rising alone, you have to attract others after you, to master an entrepreneurial spirit. It has nothing to do with graduating from law or economics; being enterprising means having a thrill and flair for business that gives people a livelihood. We have to be open and receptive - if not, we won't be in class!
There is already money: over 700 million leva for 1 year are the EU funds. Therefore, a prepared team is needed to make projects and find funding. This is the new requirement before you, and there are tools to solve the problems. We must solve our own problems, not hope for foreign investment and great powers. The modern role of the state is different - it is not a nursery, it is not a treasury, it is not a sophra! The state creates new opportunities to solve our own problems. Reason was the basis of the peace we achieved, of the Bulgarian ethnic model. Every policy in Europe for centuries has been "Division and rule", and ours is "Unify and govern". This makes an outstanding impression in Europe. The time has come for this model to be capitalized by the European fund. Do I make myself clear? The DPS may not become a first or second political force on a national scale, but it is only a matter of time before the DPS is one of the most modern parties in Europe - because of our model, which is unique! Not to encapsulate ourselves in 5 acres of potatoes or tobacco, but to think that our children will have the same opportunities as their peers in Europe. If we don't, we will be to blame, not the state.
