An extended meeting of the Municipal Council of the MRF confirmed the decision for the movement to participate with an independent candidate mayor for the municipality of Velingrad. It was held at the holiday station of "Maritza East" on Saturday with the participation of the regional chairman A. Hadjiyski. The nominee for the mayoral candidate is Nejat Kehayov, and a final decision this week will be taken by the DPS Central Bureau. DPS will make the most massive campaign because it raises mayoral candidates in all settlements in the municipality, the most controversial is the case in St. Petka. At this stage, the question of a coalition with the NDSV does not stand.
During the week, the independents Alexander Daskalov, Nikolay Deliev and Rumen Apostolov made an official request to participate in the elections (see p. 2). And if their candidatures were expected, then a real tremor caused public statements by Fidel Beev, with which he distanced himself from the local government and made a request that it was high time for a businessman to take over the executive power in the municipality. The intrigue in the election grows, by the deadline for registration anything is possible.
