DSB insists on strong political boundaries between left and right

"Left and right in Bulgarian politics" was the topic of the meeting, which gathered on February 23 in the Art Gallery members and supporters of the party "Democrats for Strong Bulgaria". The meeting, defined as a "civil seminar", was held under the auspices of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation with the participation of political scientist Svetoslav Malinov and journalists Ljuba Kulezich and Yavor Dachkov. Svetoslav Malinov dedicated his speech to the Bulgarian transition that began in 1989. not as a natural beginning of the democratic process, but orchestrated by the former communist elites. The Bulgarian transition is the most completely controlled in Eastern Europe, in each of the first registered political and civil structures have a finger BCP and State Security. The democratic process is infected from the beginning, and therefore the history of the right, according to the political scientist, is a persistent struggle to break away from the "shameful beginning". The deep idea of the left has always been to have a right that is as comfortable as possible. Therefore, it is no coincidence that there was not a single random person at the Round Table. Exactly the Round Table is the embodiment of the left-wing idea of politics in Bulgaria: party bargaining, wrapped with the myths of national consensus and consensus. Thus, the right is infected with the virus of collusion, and behind the back of the citizens, politics has been turned into a colossal deal in which broker skills such as speed of reaction and ability to negotiate are valued. Svetoslav Malinov was more than adamant that the real transition in Bulgaria had started in 1997. with the management of Ivan Kostov. At the moment, the political elite is making a mockery of any idea of values. The left hopes to get a right-wing with two faces: far-agreed as NMSS and another, which is also ready for a deal allegedly for the sake of national interests, St. Peter's said. Malinov. The party that refuses to enter into this understanding of politics is the DSB. Its task is to overcome the vicious beginning, to come clean and not to hide the truth about the status quo from left and right marauders. The political scientist admitted that the DSB had done everything possible to attract other political partners, but it turned out that this was impossible. Having made the effort, DSB announced that they are not responsible for what will happen to the right from now on.
At the founding of DSB, Ivan Kostov said that for the first time a party without the participation of DS was being created in Bulgaria, Ljuba Kulezich recalled. As a major drama of the orchestrated Bulgarian transition, she pointed out the media with their orchestrated pluralism and supposedly independence. When, by whom and how were the "free Bulgarian media" created, Mrs. Kulezich rhetorically asked. She defined the word "replacement" as a clear diagnosis of our lives, and the reign of Simeon Saxe-Coburg-Gotha not as another chapter, but as the apogee and finale of this replacement. The result of the replacement is a smearing, a humiliation, a crippling and a scattering of the political, and therefore the strong political boundaries between the left and the right must be found.
It is not the politicians who are to blame, we are to blame if we broadcast such politicians, explained Yavor Dachkov. He recalled the vivid anger that accompanied the end of Ivan Kostov's rule and the absence of such a reaction from society now. Because of this, politicians have dropped any inhibitions on what the public will say and are sure that they will be elected. As a confirmation of this, the Sofia journalist pointed out the Velingrad case "Fidel Beev": municipal money is overflowing into his private companies; before the media Beev states that it is almost cheaper for him to run instead of giving kickbacks, but still people choose him. This is unacceptable, there should be a difference between politics and business, Dachkov stressed. He added that nothing justifies us that we have allowed such terrible things to happen, because of which most young people are not here, but outside Bulgaria. DSB is an attempt to bring together people who think that there is another way to live in Bulgaria, the guest summed up.
All said did not leave the audience in the full hall indifferent and numerous questions followed. You had to come before the mayoral elections, why DSB did not put forward a candidate, what it means to vote on conscience, asked Ivan Stoyanov. According to him, if it was about parliamentary elections, Ivan Kostov and Ekaterina Mihailova would have come to Velingrad, but now they have not done so. Svetoslav Malinov explained that they have left the local structure of the DSB to decide on the mayoral elections and that the time of the dictatorship by the central leadership has passed. According to DSB local structure chairman Assen Popov, the party should not appear in elections simply because of participation, but should win elections. Even if we had won in this situation in Velingrad, DSB does not have a single municipal councilor and could not manage. Elections for mayor in any way do not yield results for any party, they would not be indicative of the influence of DSB, Mr. Popov believes.
Each of the guests of the civic seminar received from the organizers Konrad Adenauer's first book of speeches released a month ago with a foreword by DSB leader Ivan Kostov.
