19 registered members established in Velingrad a local organization of the party "Democrats for Strong Bulgaria" (DSB). The meeting on December 2 was attended by sympathizers and citizens, including emblematic faces of the "blue idea" since the beginning of the democratic changes. Guests were Ekaterina Mihailova - DSB Vice-President, Panayot Lyakov MP, DSB Vice-Presidents in Pazardzhik Katya Gesheva and Kalina Yaneva.
I want to escape from the scheme "accountable report", but I have to explain why we are here, said on behalf of the Initiative Council for the establishment of the party Asen Popov. In his analysis he noted that the processes in Bulgaria have been going on for 15 years now, during which we maintain the same principles for the development of society and it turned out that we were right - today on Bulgaria's membership in the EU and NATO and on fundamental democratic principles of public development there is a consensus, however embarrassing for some to remember that we have argued. The ODF government did the job of effecting irreversible changes and society made a qualitative leap. Since the 2001 election. political calm arose, in which we ask ourselves prime minister or king we have; is the model of government good; does religious affiliation also predetermine the political; we have lost orientation left - right. The UDF entered a circle with its support for the SDF, which supported the Tsar, who ruled with the DPS and brought the BSP into power. It's a circle in which, when we put some cheese, it becomes a pie ready to be redistributed. The issue of ODF governance requires a fair response and the same criteria to assess before and after that governance. There is also the question of whether it is enough to support by choice to talk, and in the other time in a comfortable position to criticize. In response to this question on 8 May A. Popov together with Dimitar Ishtev and Stefan Popchev took the initiative to establish DSB in Velingrad as a realized necessity.
Following Asen Popov's words, the founding declaration of the party in Velingrad was voted unanimously. It states that, in addition to Strong Bulgaria in United Europe, DSB members will also work for a strong and democratic local authority in the municipality of Velingrad: "We want a local authority to protect the common interest and to block attempts to personally benefit a limited circle of people at the expense of everyone else... Able to work to make the municipality of Velingrad a good place to live for capable, enterprising and decent citizens, regardless of their beliefs, faith and financial situation."
With full unanimity in an open vote for President of DSB - Velingrad Assen Popov was elected. According to the DSB statute, the chairman himself proposes his team. Mr. Popov proposed for Deputy Chairman Kapka Vacheva and for members of the management Branko Manushev, Dimitar Ishtev and Stefan Popchev. Other proposals were given by those present, but self-repudiation followed. The first greeting to the new leadership was from Ekaterina Mihaylova, who reported that this is the seventh organization in Pazardzhik region and DSB already has over 15,000 members in the country. The party is difficult to create, in a hostile environment and poor media comfort. The goal is not to make hollow structures, but to attract active people to ensure the fairness of the parliamentary elections. In the municipality of Velingrad, instead of a strong and democratic local authority, 1 year after the elections there is almost no local authority; as dawning residents of Velikograd they do not know who is the mayor. The partial elections for mayor will be a big test for DSB, the political decision for self-participation or who to stand for will be the local organization. We will all help, but you must be a generator of ideas, because through this political request the organization will be evaluated, Ms. Mihaylova said. She reminded that DSB is created with the enormous energy of citizens who do not accept the replacement and the political mimicry and that they are closely watching the party - if we do not keep our promises, they will not forgive us! Ekaterina Mihailova described the recent attacks on DSB leader Ivan Kostov as a hysterical reaction and promised a political response to the Mahlen intrigues to see people that they are strong, not cowardly Democrats. There is no other political news besides DSB and Kostov, because the party has huge potential. In response to a question about what needs to be overcome in order to unite the right, Ms. Mihaylova replied that the main division is of ruling and opposition. DSB did not go to the November 10 meeting because they did not accept the role of supporting opposition. The watershed is that they cannot be together with people who have renounced the rule of the ODF. The creation of the DSB gives the opportunity to vote exactly the people who would stay home and the results of the elections will show what coalitions are possible in the next parliament. There is no option for DSB not to be in the next National Assembly, Ek categorically stated. Mikhailova. At the local elections in Velingrad, DSB should participate in order to be an alternative, said Panayot Lyakov. The coalition between left and right anti-Beev parties is paradoxical and stupid from a political point of view; the other pole is also anti. Therefore, DSB has to offer an alternative, all the more so that there is a strong democratic potential in Velingrad, which is now waiting. Participation in the elections will be an invaluable political experience for DSB, will prepare a candidate with a perspective who will win the next elections for mayor of the municipality, the MP predicted.
Mr. Hristov - one of the citizens present at the establishment, defined DSB as a return to revelation and as purification. A heavy mission for which DSB - Velingrad found alongside people with political biography and new faces. And their first demonstration of the local political scene will be in the upcoming super-difficult mayoral elections.
