Expectedly, the regular press conference of ODS MP Panayot Lyakov on June 7 was dedicated to the establishment of the new party Democrats for Strong Bulgaria (DSB). He described the start as very strong, and the reactions of even the ill-wishers showed that they were respected by the new formation with leader Ivan Kostov. Now it is very important that the ideas of the DSB are heard on the ground, the leaders in the municipalities to state clear positions, take the torch and start fighting against the dark forces, depersonalization and simulation of a political system, fight for justice. We need our members on the ground to show that they are ready for this battle, said P. Lyakov.
As a major problem, Mr. Lyakov pointed out the lack of a national political leader. According to him, the BSP categorically could not become a national leader and that is its political tragedy - the support for the socialist party is not growing, it has no ideas, it does not know where to lead Bulgaria, there are severe internal contradictions and its leader has no qualities of a leader. With its strong start, DSB has given a request for leadership - not just in the right space, but national leadership. Whichever party convinces voters that it has the potential of a national leader, it will win the next election, the MP predicted.
The distinction between DSB and other parties on the right like SDS and SDS according to Lyakov comes from the fact that SDS and SDS are parties of the status quo, that they are inside the oligarch-mafia model from which there is no escape and sinks like a quagmire. DSB will bet on local leaders who are not afraid to state positions and this will distinguish them from UDFs who do not enter into conflicts and keep the status quo. A moat must be drawn between ruling and opposition and it should be clear what alternative is being offered. The DSB denies the current model of government that even the people hate - an association for a joint common government that serves only elites, oligarchy and criminals. The new party wants to give people a taste of politics. However, right-wing forces cannot unite to stop the BSP, but in the name of a right-wing project. The mafia model is not a right-wing model, there are no right-wing bandits, cut P. Lyakov. Regarding the MRF, he defended the thesis that there is a European model for minority representation and urged to see how the Turks live and how Dogan's entourage lives.
The DSB will stand in elections "alone or with allies with whom it has common adversaries." As such, Panayot Lyakov pointed out BZNS-NS and DS with which they have a common opponent in the face of the current government of NMSS and DPS plus participation of BSP.
