Last month, the Municipal Council made a change to its Rules of Procedure, according to which the date for holding a session was nailed down: the last Thursday of the month. Therefore, another meeting of the councillors will be on October 28.
The first item on the agenda includes 3 decisions voted by the councillors in September and challenged by the interim mayor Stoyan Dulev. Mr. Dulev returned for a re-vote the decisions to allocate 30 thousand levs for sports clubs; to appoint an investor and regularly pay the cleaning activity of the municipal company Stroycom and the decision to request an outsourced job to the Tax Office in Velingrad. Toma Pachalov announced that he would make a proposal for a change in the Rules so as not to waste time on vital problems of the municipality. Mr. Pachalov will propose in challenging an important decision by the mayor, the councillors to revote it at an extraordinary session 3 days later, not to waste months in procedural grips. The situation in Stroycom is particularly severe because the case scheduled for October 18 in Pazardzhik was postponed due to the non-appearance of Shele-Bulgaria and Beev and Beev. Following the adopted half-year plan, the councillors will ask the administration for reports on the companies with municipal participation and on the work on projects to the European funds. A report on the condition of the road network in the municipality will also be viewed. BSP will introduce a strategy for improving infrastructure in Roma neighborhoods in Velingrad and Draginovo.
Hot topics will also be discussed at the meetings of the committees of the Municipal Council from Monday to Wednesday. One of them is related to the closure of the washing machine in Kamenica next to the hot mineral spring "Vlasa" because of the upcoming construction of a hotel. In the Complaints and Economics Committees, they will consider a letter from the Initiative Committee of dismissed and repressed employees of VKTV. The Chairman of the Municipal Council N. Kehayov once again expressed concern that despite the already expired term, the administration is not ready to make a plan for the development of the municipality. Without such a plan, we cannot move a step forward next year, N. Kehayov, but there was no one to hear it, as no representative of the administration or its leadership had come to the meeting of the Operative Bureau.
