The head of the economic service at the German Embassy, Mr. Jens Krausmase, met on June 10 with the mayor of the municipality, Fidel Beev, his deputies M. Arsov and R. "I am convinced that on January 1, 2007 Bulgaria will be an equal member of the European Union," said Mr Jens Krausmase. He highlighted two important problems through German investors in Germany. First of all - insufficiently effective judiciary despite reforms in the judiciary. Secondly - the cooperation and support from the local authorities, where there is positive progress and the meeting in Velingrad proves it. Germany is taking clear steps to encourage its investors to work with Bulgaria: through the establishment of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, through a special federal agency and through its embassies around the world.

A total of about 250 companies are members of the chamber, of which over 55 are mixed Bulgarian-German. All companies that are interested can become members of the Bulgarian-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce, it became clear at the meeting.
