The director of the important Humanitarian Policy sector in the municipality Mariana Vladimirova took stock of the work done during the year on December 12.

Always the problematic topic for the material and technical base of the schools in 2001. has been done quite a bit. With the help of the Christian Children's Fund of Great Britain and the Future for Bulgaria Foundation, 3 new computer cabinets were furnished at HR School. Botev", OU "N. Rila" and SOU "V. Levski". There are serious acts for such offices in St. John's High School. St. Cyril and Methodius" and Secondary School "Hr. Smirnenski" in St. Petka. However, few funds were allocated to the chemistry and biology offices. Mrs. Vladimirova thanked the Mayor Dr. Dafov and the municipal councilors that the construction program for the year was prepared strategically: not according to the familiar principle of each school a small, but a phased solution of the problems. The initial amount of 38,300. was exceeded by 8,000 levs. An example was the olgaganiya 20 years renovation of the school in Krastava, the school and kindergarten in Honey meadows, the garden in Sarnitsa. Act 16 finally got the school in Pobit Kamak and the kindergarten "Gagarin" in Sarnitsa. Mrs. Vladimirova also thanked all school principals who made a lot of effort to find sponsors. Heating in the winter season is provided at 100 percent in all schools. During the week, the HEI took measurements of the temperatures in the classrooms and found no problems. There will be no wooden vacations, in case of great cold, the hours may be reduced (which happened a day after the press conference). The problem of heating the Secondary School "V. Levski” was only partially solved with the replacement of some radiators. Two projects for the heating of the school have been presented to donor organizations, but there is still no positive result. At the end of the year, the Education sector has paid all the old obligations for el. energy and liquid fuels (over BGN 20,000 since 2000). For 2001. 92 148 leva were paid for el. energy, 62,000 leva for liquid and 12,166 leva for solid fuel. Before the vacation, 16 000 leva will be paid for the scholarships of the students. There are no problems with the payment of November salaries and Christmas bonuses of 20 leva for teachers. For kindergartens were paid 47,069 leva for food. Winter vacation for the youngest will be from December 22, 2001. until 1 February 2002. There is a willingness, if absolutely necessary, to work a duty group in the kindergarten "Fantasia" (in the summer there are only 16 children left in this expensive group of the municipality). The general trend is that in Velingrad the number of children who wish to attend kindergarten is growing. This fact suggests that the municipality managed to preserve the gardens as an element of social policy, M believes. Vladimirova. The municipality has paid 15,800 leva for old rents to the Fantasia Kindergarten and now pays 300 leva a month. Our municipality is the only one in the district that has received a letter of thanks from HEI - Pazardzhik for the state of kindergartens and schools. All the prescriptions of the HEI have been met, but there is still much work to be done on the prescriptions of the Fire Service, where considerable funds are required. As a success, it was reported that all announced classes after VII and VIII were filled thanks to good coordination between schools. The participation of our students in the Olympics has been successful, the financial provision of which has also been taken over by the municipality. There have been problems with parents in connection with language learning. It was reported that there is an endless shortage of qualified teachers of English in the municipality. In the field of sports and sports, Mrs. Vladimirova pointed out that all schools in the municipality have developed projects on which they have received from the Ministry of Education a total of 8700 leva for the purchase of sports equipment and furnishing of gymnasiums. This year's school competitions went very well, for which the municipality owes thanks to the judges who worked free of charge, the PE teachers and the OCD. For the first time in years funds were provided and our teams participated in finals in Pazardzhik. Serious work during the year was done by the Municipal Children's Complex, especially on the celebration of the Children's Day. What is new in his work will be the opening of a group in puppetry to kindergartens, a group in textile design and processing, and since 2002. will start learning the Armenian language and other foreign languages with additional funding from the HDFW. Mrs. Vladimirova recalled that because of the theft of cable for the heating of the district heating, the municipality paid 2,400 levs. Last but not least was noted the good work in relation to the new ZIPs in religion in the primary course. Ours is one of the 12 municipalities where faith and Islam groups with qualified lecturers were formed. An assessment of what has been done is that Mrs. Vladimirova was elected as a member of the board of the newly established National Council for Spiritual and Religious Education. Elena Baeva
