News for lovers of ski slopes is that from this winter a new track of Yundola awaits them. It is located at 1680 meters above sea level in the area of Starina. It is very convenient for tourists as it is located 50 meters to the right of the Yundola - Belmeken road and already has parking. Besides the convenient road and infrastructure, there is now a ski-wardrobe and a cafe.
The length of the track is 280 meters and the difference in heights is 50 meters. The site was selected after a two-year snow containment study, which is here from December to April inclusive. The track of the entire track is in the state forest fund. We learned more details about the new sports facility from Mr. Ivan Lebanov, who is a designer and consultant for its construction. The track is part of the University of Forestry's training base and is provided for training future forest engineers who take such an exam within the framework of their studies. However, the idea is larger: the hotel base of Yundola's University of Forestry to be filled with tourists and self-support, and to open a ski school to the track. The most valuable thing about the location of the track is that there are good opportunities for its expansion. In the future, its length can reach 1.5-2 kilometers, and the final part is near the Yadenitsa Dam, where a water complex for tourists can also be formed.
According to the famous skier and coach Ivan Lebanov, we have natural resources that should be used for the development of ski sports and tourism. He announced that on 29 November the tow line was stretched, and soon there will be a snow trampling machine to maintain the track. The new runway will be officially opened when the first snow falls. An invitation to the "premier" will be given to all veterans and active athletes from Velingrad and the municipality.
