For more than two years an idea has been waiting for its realization. Even when the need for the expansion of the Central Cemetery Park in Velingrad was talked about, there was a proposal to have a large stone cross there as well. The park expanded, mayors and deputy mayors changed, but the idea remained, and the time came for it to be implemented. From the chairwoman of the municipal commission on education and culture Snezhana Veleva we learned that after consultation with arch.Todor Enev and arch.Manov the place of the cross has already been determined. The cross itself will be donated by Minerali M with President Nadezhda Klyuchkova.
The hope of all participants in the previous work on the realization of the idea and of the Commission for Monuments of Culture is the Municipal Administration to also provide the necessary assistance. And the placement of the cross in the Central Cemetery Park to take place on September 14, when the Bulgarian Orthodox Church celebrates the Exaltation of the Honorable Cross of the Lord (Cross).
