On November 17, the one-month visit of the exhibition "The Armons in Bulgaria" began at the Ethnographic Museum in Pazardzhik. It was made and seen first in Velingrad, then in Sofia and Plovdiv, and now it is in the center of the district with the most representatives of this community - Pazardzhik. The exhibition presents the livelihood and lifestyle of the Armenians, known as "vlachs", "cinzars", "kutsowlas" - representatives of a community with an interesting history and culture.
Guests of the opening were the regional governor Angel Cholakov, the scientific leader of the exhibition team Svetla Rakshieva, the director of the Historical Museum - Velingrad Snezhana Veleva and the director of the Regional History Museum - Pazardzhik Dimitar Mitrev.
For the first visitors of the exhibition sang the Armenian group "Kantiklu nostu", which involved Armani from Velingrad, Rakitovo and Dorkovo under the direction of Nikola Yanev-Choli. It was her performances that attracted the guests to the extremely original Armenian folklore.
At the opening of the exhibition, Ms. Rakshieva emphasized that it is a proof of the richness of cultural diversity, which is the basis and source of identity. It is precisely in our age of globalism that everyone needs to express their identity and remember their ethnic identity. Mr. Mitrev also spoke about the Armenians as one of the smallest ethnic groups in Bulgaria, which zealously protects its culture.
The visit of the exhibition "The Armons in Bulgaria" in Pazardzhik is another recognition of the efforts of the specialists from the Velingrad museum. Because thanks to their work, the connection was made between the wide range of institutions that prepared the exhibition: Ethnographic Institute with Museum at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences - Sofia, Regional History Museum - Pazardzhik, Center for Aromanic Language and Culture - Sofia, Historical Museum - Velingrad and the representatives of the community from our region.
