In the partial elections for mayor of the municipality of Velingrad on September 18, four candidates will compete. The pre-known three minutes before the last registration deadline was also joined by Angel Toporchev. Thus, the final list of contenders for the mayoral chair is: Ivan Lebanov from BSP, Angel Toporchev from NPZ "N. Petkov", Nikola Matrov - independent and Stoyan Dulev - independent.
In this order, the candidates-mayors were ranked when drawing the draw for the ballot numbers: N 1 for Lebanov, N 2 for Toporchev, N 3 for Matrov and N 4 for Dulev. In the mayoral elections will not be voted with the new integral ballot, but with the well-known to the voter black and white ballots for each individual candidate.
During the week, the Municipal Election Commission also appointed the members of the sectional committees. The sections in which the vote will be taken are also defined.
As of August 23, the election campaign is officially underway. The candidates promised tolerance, transparency and honesty, as well as not to make expensive campaigns against the backdrop of the disaster that befell us. The race for the mayor's post began at low speeds, but gradually gained momentum.
