Blagoy Kunchev and Spasimira Daskalova from OKST "Impulse" with coach Petar Milchev, 10 years old, compete in age group up to 11, Balkan champions from Athens, have won first places in the International Tournaments "Sochi" and "Albena" and at the National Tournaments "Yambol", "Gabrovo" and "Velvet Cup" and two second places in the International Tournament "Skopje". 2. Katya Sankeva from PC "Chepinets" with coach Lyubov Doxinova, 15 years old, national competitor, participant in the Balkan Games, three-time state champion for girls st. at 50, 100 and 200 m breaststroke, silver medal at 100 m breaststroke and bronze medals at 50 and 200 m breaststroke by DP for women. 3. Kiril Karadjov from PC "Chepinets" coached by Lyubov Doxinova, 16 years old, national competitor, participant in the Youth Olympic Games in Spain, six-time state champion of 50, 100 and 200 m back from the championships of 25 and 50 m youth pool st.v. 4. Polina Mihaylova from PC "Chepinets" coached by Lyubov Doxinova, 14 years old, national competitor, participant in the Balkan Games, five-time state champion at 50, 100 m St. style and 800 m combined swimming from the championships of 25 and 50 m swimming pool for girls ml.v., bronze medal in 100 m st. DP style for women. 5. Yordan Lebanov from SC "Chepinets" with coach Ivan Lebanov, 16 years old, winner of 1 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medal from DP in ski-running for juniors, competitor and in football in FC "Atletik". 6. Ivan Madolev from PK Belmeken with coach Velko Kleshkov, 18 years old, national competitor, participant of the Balkaniada for juniors and took there VII place at 50 m breaststroke, bronze medals at 50 and 100 m breaststroke of DP for men. 7. Lachezar Terziev from Dolphin-96 SC with coach Georgi Kostadinov, 14 years old, gold medal at 200 m St. style and two silver medals at 50 and 100 m st. style of the open championship of Greece for people with physical disabilities, republican champion of 50, 100 and 200 m st. style for athletes with disabilities in the musculoskeletal system. 8. Georgi Mihov and Adriana Gereva from OKST "Impulse" with coach Petar Milchev, 10 years old, third place at the Balkaniada in Athens, first and third place at the International Tournament "Sochi", first places at the National Tournaments "Sofia" and "Kazanlak", second places at the National Tournaments " Plovdiv" and "Veleva Cup". 9. Stanimir Kachakov from PK Belmeken with coach Velko Kleshkov, 22 years old, currently studying in Cleveland (USA) with a sports scholarship, bronze medal in 50 m St. DP style for men. 10. Mehmed Hajiyev from the wrestling club Rodopi in Sarnitsa with coach Recep Ay, 16 years old, Republican champion in free wrestling for cadets in the 73 kg category of the championship in Omurtag, regional champion in the same category and age. The average age of a good Velingrad athlete is just over 15 years old. And the designated best contestants are children of only 10 years of age! Indeed, in children is the future - both in life and in sports, but where is the high sportsmanship, where are the achievements and successes in men and women, where the true values are seen and who is judged how much and who can how much? When will the new Ivan Lebanov, Tsvetan Golomeev, Iskren Plankov and a number of others who were best not only as children and adolescents, but remained so throughout their sports career? Immediately dozens of objective reasons can be pointed out for the great difficulties and problems that accompany the development of the sport and do not allow to work for the search for the big and memorable appearances in the sport. And it certainly is, but the pity is that in our city the efforts of sports clubs (at least in the last 6-7 years) reach only up to the level of children, adolescents and girls. And then it's like a gaping chasm... May the weather disprove this unhappy picture and the current young athletes reach the records, prizes and medals when they are already of age. Georgi Dishlyanov
