"Whoever pays, he orders the music" in a pub, not at a municipal event Folk-star rose at the Velingrad Festivals of Culture. There is no dispute that the tradition, created for more than 35 years, has been broken. There is no dispute that times are changing, and folk is loved by a huge number of people.
It is pointless to condemn some type of music - let everyone listen to what he likes. However, the question is about the time and place - should the chalga enter the poster of the Festivals of Culture? Does it have to sound right in the solemn concert for Velingrad Day? Did we have to hear and see Chalga in the central square, just named after Nikolai Gyaurov - a symbol of true class in art?
After all, the rule "He who pays, he orders the music" applies to a pub, not to a municipal event!
