The election battle in Velingrad also flared up on the radio-air. Like the readers of v. "Tempo" already learned, a few days ago radio "ChLC" returned to the air of Velingrad. The radio is owned by "Velingrad News" Ltd. with CEO Vesela Tsintseva. It has been licensed 0103004 since 28 January 2005. Radio "ChLC" waited for the long licensing procedure and only then allowed itself to start broadcasting its previous frequency 99 FM.
At the same time, on February 8, the radio "Velingrad" started playing on the nearby frequency 99.4 FM. This is the radio that broadcasts on its cable network TV "BBTV". Although Radio "Velingrad" does not have a license for broadcasting, its program sounded on the air for hours.
On behalf of the "CLC" were referred to the Council for Electronic Media (CEM) and the Communications Regulation Commission (CRC). The CRC acted quickly this time and the very next day the broadcasting of Velingrad Radio was discontinued.
The case was also commented by Defence Minister Nikolay Svinarov during his visit to Velingrad. He stated that he was not familiar with radio frequencies, but any illegal action should be immediately stopped by the relevant control authorities.
