On September 25 and 26 this year. of Kurtovo and Yundola was held State Ski-Run Championship - rollers and cross. In the so-called Summer championship was attended by sports clubs from Samokov, Smolyan, two clubs from Sofia, Berkovitsa, Bansko and others. From Velingrad in the race took part Ski club "Atlas", whose competitors performed very well. At 7 km rollers and 5 km cross under the girls Elka Guleva won one gold and one silver medal. In juniors Ivan Asyov won a bronze award on 10 km rolls.
The young children who made the first start of the State Championship also performed very well. Georgi Uzonov took fourth and sixth place, and Mikhail Paunov sixth and eighth place. Despite the financial lack of money, the club found the strength to represent Velingrad in a sport that has been traditional for our city for years.
