For seven days (between 11 and 17 March) Velingrad has the honor of hosting a Week of French Cinema. 11 new titles and an older one were able to see the moviegoers, among them shining "The Pianist" - winner of 4 "Oscar" awards for 2004, including for the leading male role of Adrian Brody, "8 women", winner of 2 "Cesar", and "Irreversible" on three. On screen, we could enjoy the game of Ludivine Sanier, Fanny Ardan, Isabelle Yuper, as well as big directorial names like Gaspar Do, Franois Ozon and Pedro Almodvar. In two of the titles there was also Bulgarian participation - in "Europudding" in one of the main roles is filmed the Bulgarian living in France, Vladimir Yordanov, and in the music to the film "8 Women" sounds the Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra. This is the second time a forum of this rank has been held in a city outside the capital, which adds extra weight to the event. According to organizer Anton Radoychev, the film event was well attended. None of the 23 screenings have failed, with viewers of different ages showing interest.
The viewers' award was won by Georgi Tsenev from Rakitovo, who in May will spend a weekend for two in the Golden Sands resort. Tonix Intelligence announced that it hopes such events will continue in the coming years, including films from different European countries. Very soon, the moviegoers from Velingrad will have the opportunity to enjoy another new French title - "The Longest Engagement", whose premiere date will be on April 22. A new film event - Passionate Film Evenings - is coming up in the summer, where we will be able to watch romantic, comedic, art and other types of cinema. For the premiere of the Bulgarian film "Mila from Mars" is expected to personally guest the performer of the lead role Vesela Kazakova.
