Opinions on the post-prize poll

Hristo Doksinov - swimming coach at the Chepinets PC: "The idea of the Municipality to determine "Sportsman of the Year" is very good and I welcome it, but I want to make some recommendations. Perhaps in the future it is good to consider some differentiation in the nomination of athletes and to seek greater objectivity in the ranking.

I'm not discounting the success of dancers, but sports dancing is not an Olympic sport. There should also be thought about the participation of more sports people in the poll in order to have greater objectivity." Georgi Kostadinov - Chairman of Dolphin-96 SC and coach: "I think that when determining the best athletes it is not right for the coaches to participate. It doesn't work somehow for us to determine and arrange our own contestants, which means that we evaluate ourselves in this way. And that's not right, and I refused to fill out a poll. As far as I know, other coaches have done as I have done." The nomination and awarding of the Velingrad athletes is commendable and deserves congratulations, but it really needs to be seriously considered how in the future the choice of the athletes will become as objective as possible by engaging more sports people. In this sense, not only SOME coaches, SOME sports specialists and journalists to participate, but to offer ALL coaches in different sports, ALL sportsmen, ALL gym teachers, ALL prominent former athletes. Then you will get a real poll with a maximum dose of objectivity and no one will be ignored. In order to respect the efforts of all coaches and clubs, contestants from all sports that develop on the territory of the city and the municipality must be nominated in the poll. But for this purpose it will be necessary to work out approved by all criteria for nomination in different categories. For example - separate ranking for Olympic and non-Olympic sports, for individual and collective sports, successes in different age groups (up to 12, up to 14, up to 16, up to 18). and over 18). Thus, everyone will find their recognition and will not compare achievements between sports that have almost no common ground and cannot be compared. Last but not least, it is right to remind the clubs that they nominate the performances of their contestants for a whole year. And the fact that an athlete has changed club affiliation should not deprive him of the opportunity to gain recognition. Moreover, it is about Hristina Totina, who was undoubtedly the most successful swimmer of 2001 at the Chepinets, but was not nominated by her club. Tempo
