A Mongolian high-level delegation visited Velingrad on 15 January. In its composition were the secretary of NCSD prof. Dagvadori, the Director of the Secretariat of the Government of Mongolia Mr. Sharbandi, the Deputy Regional Governor of Khentii District Mr. Sukhbaatar, the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Trade and Economy Mr. Yondon, who is also the Head of the National Commission on Sustainable Development and the Director of the 21st Century Opportunities Project Mr. Bayarmaa.

The delegation was in Bulgaria under the UN in connection with the work on sustainable development projects in Mongolia. The UN's "21st Century Opportunities" program operating in Bulgaria has been rated as the best in Eastern Europe and is therefore used as a source of useful experience. In Mongolia, there has been work on sustainable development issues for 6 years, there is a national commission and strategy, but there is much more to be done. In Velingrad, the delegation visited the Center for Business and Information and was briefed on its work and projects by Mrs. Svetlana Papukchieva. The guests were accompanied by Mrs. Tanya Shumkova and Mrs. Tsvetelina Knudsen from the national office of Opportunities 21st Century. In the local business center the Mongolian delegation got acquainted with the practice of demonstration projects, which exists only in Bulgaria. The hosts showed the guests from Mongolia the trout kennel in Chepino and the hotel Velina. The entire delegation visited Nadezhda Klyuchkova's company Minerals-M. Mongolian guests have shown great interest, as there is a great abundance of different types of marble in their country, but they do not have the technologies used here. The Secretary of State of the Ministry of Economy and Trade has stated firm intentions to consider exporting Bulgarian marble production or importing Mongolian marble to Bulgaria. The Mongolian delegation has a luncheon with the mayor of the municipality Dr. Tsvetan Dafov at the Old Walnut Restaurant. Despite the difficult translation from Bulgarian into English and then into Mongolian, the common desire for future mutually beneficial contacts was stated. Guests have given the mayor of Velingrad an original leather bag with Mongolia's traditional divination bones. After Velingrad, their delegation had a number of meetings in the capital, including with Deputy Prime Minister Nikolay Vasilev. Tempo
