Musicians and cheerleaders make 47th tour in Europe

In addition to the many other qualities of the Representative Brass Orchestra and majorette composition of Velingrad, they hold the palm tree of the championship in number of overseas trips. Last week ended their 47th tour in Italy, Spain and France. The indefatigable conductor Dimitar Mechev led them on the roads of Europe again with the artistic head of the cheerleading squad Bilyana Maslarova.
Briefly about this year's European tour tells Georgi Hasardzhiev. At first, a slight disappointment caused the mandatory fee of 165 euros per bus for children to enter and explore Venice. But then the journey continued "by water".
The first appearance of Velingradians was on 23 and 24 August in Giat, a town 50 kilometers from Clermont Ferrand in the Alps. Orchestras from Switzerland, Germany, France and New Orleans participated in the patron's day there. But the only Velingrad orchestra was honored to take part in the festive mass in the local cathedral.
On August 25, musicians and cheerleaders have made a big defile at the feast of St. Privat in the city of Carmo. With huge success, their solo concert in the festival palace has passed. Proof of this success is the invitation next year to visit a neighboring city that competes with the famous holiday of the city of Nice. After a few free days and a visit to Barcelona, on August 29, our orchestra arrives in the town of Luon, located 10 kilometers from Spain, in the Pyrenees. The town is similar to ours, there is a mineral spring opened in 1848 and a Roman bath, Mr. Hasardzhiev told. Lushon is a winter resort, and the ski lift starts from the very center of the city. Here, the Velingradians play and dance at the Festival of Flowers, which has a 104-year history. In the following days, bands from France, Germany, Switzerland and Velingrad marched with a lot of animation and a solemn presentation on the streets of Lushon.
The finale of this tour is a payback for the great work and the many efforts that musicians and cheerleaders make year-round: walks to Cannes, Nice, Monaco, Monte Carlo, San Remo and the Mediterranean coast.
On behalf of the orchestra management Mr. Hasardzhiev thanked all participants - musicians and cheerleaders, the translator Tsv. Tosheva and the doctor Dr. Sp. Shuleva. Special thanks also to the transporter "Transauto" of the brothers Beevi and the drivers Todor Karkomov and Georgi Andreev.
