Four skiers under the leadership of Todor Gulev presented Velingrad at the state ski championship, which was held in Borovets. The competition was in the age groups juniors and seniors, men and women. Ski clubs from Berkovitsa, Troyan, Bansko, Boyana Sofia, Borovets and Velingrad took part.
In the individual ranking in junior girls Eli Gulleva once again proved his good sports form and took fourth place. Also fourth place in the individual ranking in the seniors won Boris Peykov. Velingradians presented convincingly in the relay 3 by 10 kilometers for juniors, winning second place and a silver medal. In front of our relay team Boris Peykov, Ivan Asyov and Yordan Chalamov is the only team of the sports school in Bansko.
Now the starts for the Pirin Cup are forthcoming, but the Velingrad participation is again in question for the known financial reasons. Mr. Gulev rightly commented that results cannot be sought without participating in the starts. And he continues to expect the municipality's promised financial shoulder.
