The Territorial Tax Directorate - Velingrad is scheduled to be closed in early October, which will face a major problem with the administration of local taxes and fees, announced the Chairman of the Municipal Council Nejat Kehayov. In fact, the problem is not from yesterday, and this stage of tax reform has already been discussed many times. On September 29, the local parliament will choose one of two options: to have a unit in the Municipal Administration to collect local taxes and fees or the municipality to pay for this service to the Regional Tax Directorate - Pazardzhik. Most municipalities have opted for the first option, where there is the possibility of appointing collectors of local taxes and fees in individual settlements and thus the collection rate rises. The other untenable problem is related to the servicing of companies. In order to avoid a permanent trip to the regional center, the municipality of Velingrad insists that there should be an outsourced workplace for republican taxes. Mr. Kehayov said that talks have already been held with MPs from our constituency and will rely on their assistance in this direction. The request will also be recorded in a deliberate decision of the Municipal Council.
