Beo Dance is the most prestigious international sports dance tournament, which has been organized for years in the Serbian capital Belgrade. This year it was held on 20 and 21 September with the participation of contestants from Bulgaria, Macedonia, Ukraine, Russia, Moldova, Italy, Canada, Austria, Slovenia and hosts from Serbia and Montenegro. Strong participation is not accidental: the Beo Dance tournament has the highest international rank and gives points for the world rankings. The 22 judges of the competition are practically among the top judges in sports dancing in Europe.
Bulgaria presented itself with pairs of clubs in Sofia, Burgas, Haskovo, Sliven and Velingrad. The leader of the Bulgarian group was personally the chairman of the Bulgarian Sports Dance Federation, Stoncho Mihailov.
The Velingrad Impulse Club, led at this competition by Desislava Petaka, participated with three pairs and achieved remarkable success: it was our pair who made the best ranking for Bulgaria at Beo Dance. The heroes of the tournament were Hristo Grcchi - Diana Luchkova, who in competition of 35 pairs in 11-year-olds won first place in the standard dances. This is a great performance for the graduates of KST "Impulse" who gain experience and victories at international level.
In juniors (up to 13 years old), the competition was even greater because 50 couples participated. The Velingradans Georgi Mihov - Adriana Gereva won the prestigious fourth place in the standard dances and remained seventh in the Latin dance. Worthily performed and Spas Tsanov - Elena Buchkova with sixth place in the standard and eighth in Latino.
The international tests for KST "Impulse" will continue in late October at a tournament in Macedonia and in November at a strong competition in Austria. Previously, on October 18, Impulse will participate for the first time at the State Team Championship in Sliven. The club already has competitors in all age groups and can perform as a team, announced coach Petar Milchev.
