The Heirs of 27 Chepinski Regiment

24.05.2005 10:07 •
60 years ago, 438 fighters from the Chepinska trough went to the front. 40 of them remain pinned on the battlefields of Macedonia, Hungary, Austria. Chepintsi fought in the famous 27 infantry regiment in direction Kriva palanka, Kumanovo, Skopje. They fought hard because the Germans were fiercely resisting. At the capture of Kiselitsa on 5 October, the first casualties were also fallen; Mount Interca, village. Father-in-law, S. Gaber, Dubroica. On 19 October 27 epinski Regiment seized Petrolitsa, on 20 October Ostraj and Milotinica fell, on 2 November they crossed the river Pinja and seized Chetirce, on 11 November Kumanovo was liberated, and on 15 they entered Skopje. In 50 days of continuous combat, they go over 100 kilometers.
Our Chepintsi participate in 57, 58 and 59th regiments and reach Moore, Orehovitsa, Cherkovets and stop at Nedelishte, where they also welcome May 9. The advance into Austria continued, towards Redkensburg, where on 16 May they were overtaken by the order to cease hostilities.
The Chepinians of the 27th Regiment are not forgotten by today's generations. They're role models. The Society of Sergeants and Reserve Officers at a meeting decided and adopted as its patron the name "Chepintsi". He decided to have his own flag. Resolved and done: consulting with Mr. Bozhidar Dimitrov on all matters of heraldry and with the help of Mr. Georgi Kolev the flag was made. On the morning of the wonderful May 6 in the square in front of the monument to the fallen fighters in the quarter. Chepino flag was consecrated by Father Angel Terzov, priest of the church "St. George." Gen. Dimitar Achev handed the flag to Chairman Dimitar Kavrakov with the words: "Proud that you are heirs of the legendary Chepintsi. Keep the flag clean and untainted. May it guide you through the difficult times and to new and new successes!". Kissing the flag, the chairman handed it over to the flag-bearer Alexander Valkov. Many councillors, representatives of different parties and citizens attended the celebration. We looked fondly at the children, who themselves passed under the flag and kissed him.
On May 15, the Chepintsi Society celebrated the consecration of its own flag at the Hashovete restaurant. The mood was festive. Dimitar Kavrakov paid tribute to the legendary Chepintsi. Great was the surprise of the greeting presented by representatives of the General Staff of the Ministry of Defence residing in Velingrad. We served everyone warm pita and red wine for health and success. We sang a lot of patriotic songs, played a lot of people and danced. We thank the musicians for the selected music that helped us to respond to the greeting from the General Staff: all of us, standing up, holding hands, sang with enthusiasm the unforgettable and majestic "Get up, country huge". Thus we also paid tribute to the fighters of the glorious Red Army who defeated fascism and liberated Europe and celebrated May 9 - the day of victory of Europe as well.
From all this it is understood that the Bulgarian, although poor, although living hard and in want, is still alive. The Liver didn't leave him. He is proud to be Bulgarian, his patriotic feeling is alive, and his heart is full of patriotism.
Finally, we want to thank our sponsors cordially. To Mr. Georgi Kolev - a bow to the ground and a great gratitude for the consultations and expenses for the flag. To Mr. Bozhidar Dimitrov - consultant; to Mrs. Yordanka Yanusheva, to Mr. Metko, to Mrs. Nadezhda Klyuchkova, to Mr. Atanas Mitsikulev, to Mr. Kiril Gerev, who helped us from the heart to hold the celebration. The Chepintsi thank you with all their heart!
