We are witnessing a successful mandate and we support the mayor Dr. Dafov for a second one in order to continue being the owner of the municipality. This was stated by the leader of the National Movement for Rights and Freedoms (NDPS) Najie Asanova at a special press conference on September 8. She reported that all of Dr. Dafov's election promises with the exception of the Sutka project have been fulfilled and that Velingrad has been rebuilt. Much has also been done on the villages, especially in Sarnitsa, added Deputy Regional Chairman of NDPS Kemal Trampov. Dr. Dafov thanked for the support, recalling that even in his previous run from the NDSV they had given him credit of trust.
NDSV will appear in the elections in Velingrad with a separate list for municipal councilors and will raise its candidates for mayors in Draginovo, Pashovo, Pobit Kamak and Sarnitsa. In the name of coalition relations, the UDF will support their challenger in Pashovo. More complicated is the situation in Sarnitsa, where the blue party is likely to have its own candidate (its intentions are expected to announce the current mayor Shukri Yakubov), while at the same time the NDPS for the post will fight Kemal Trampov. Surely things will be decided in the second round, we expect a tolerant campaign, predicted Dr. Dafov.
In the municipality of Rakitovo, the NDPS is considering raising mayoral candidacies in the three settlements and an independent list of councillors. On September 12, support for Dr. Dafov also announced the national coordinator of the SDP Minko Boshnakov, who as a PR specialist will advise the mayor's campaign. Mr. Boshnakov said that the political and sociological analyses made by the SDP have shown that Dr. Dafov is a successful mayor. As an advantage of the current mayor, Mr. Boshnakov pointed out that he will not speak to "will", and the work done during the term is visible and everyone can judge it. Dr. Dafov turned the tape back to remind that at the beginning of his political career he was a member of the SDP - Pazardzhik and believed in the ideas of social democracy.
Although there are no structures in Velingrad, the SDP will appear with a list of municipal councillors. We give authority to Dr. Dafov to judge which people to be included in the list, our only condition is to have a civil quota, announced M. Boshnakov. He replied that he was not worried by the fact that Dr. Dafov, who is the chairman of the UDF, would name names on the list of the PSD.
Dr. Dafov announced that he is preparing the opening of his election campaign with the participation of all leaders of parties that support him. A program for the development of Velingrad, over which Bulgarian and international capacities have worked, will be presented.
