Businessman Alexander Daskalov, manager of the Veli toy factory, officially announced his intention to run for mayor of Velingrad. This happened on September 10 in the big hall of the municipality in front of the owners of local companies invited by him.
The municipality of Velingrad lags significantly behind in all sectors, and this also disrupts our business, which would develop at a much better pace for example in Peshtera, Panagyurishte or Bansko. The Velingrad business does not receive any help from the municipality, everyone has experienced the clerk on his own back and has benefited from the "preferences". If the municipality does not take urgent measures to stabilize the local economy, the main laborer in the face of small firms will perish in the coming years. And the big firms face the difficult task of either embedding themselves in the EU requirements or also ending their existence. The economy of the city is left on its own, it is hampered by corruption and bribes, for municipal projects are called companies from outside. Therefore, the main task is for the municipality to support the business and the business to support the municipality. These were the main ones of the mayoral candidate, who announced that he would appear as an independent and would rely on support from the Bulgarian Social Democracy (BSD), National Ideal for Unity (NIE) and several other formations. In order to get the municipal economy back on its feet, the future Municipal Council needs to have people from the business. They will not sell for one brandy or 100 leva, nor will they go to sell the city center, Al said. Daskalov. According to him, it is normal for the municipality to be managed by those who have proven that they can manage people and money, not by those who do not do business in Velingrad and rely on salary. He stressed that local businesses have stayed away from government and therefore should be angry with themselves, but it is time for them to take on their civic duty to run the city.
A specific proposal was made to the businessmen present in the hall by the chairman of the party Bulgarian Social Democracy Alexander Gushevilov: to participate in the list of advisers of the party as non-partisan. The leader will be Mayor Al's candidate. Daskalov, who reminded that the main task is to win the elections for the Municipal Council.
