This year the celebrations will take place on the newly built square in the city. Its construction started at the initiative of the new municipal leadership, which managed to convince the local parliament that the steepness acting as a square is not the most suitable for Rakitovo. The municipal council voted the amount of 25 thousand leva for the construction of the first stage of the project, and the amount was taken from the reserve formed by the sale of the Sanatorium in the Park area.
The project for the new center was made by the department "TSU" to the municipality with the assistance of an architect: anolov. The first stage provides for the construction of gardens and a fountain at the top. There has already been built 400 sq.m. a site that will be paved with decorative tiles. There are stairs for pedestrians and special approaches for children's and wheelchairs. Due to the large displacement of the terrain, the opinion of the management of the municipality is that a second level will be made in the implementation of the second stage, which will correct the differences in the levels of the square and it will gain a complete and functional appearance. The second stage will be carried out at a later stage with its own revenues in the municipal budget. In the conducted conversation with the deputy mayors Mariana Veleva and Angel Marizov they expressed gratitude to Mr. A. Govedarski for the assistance in the organization of the construction works of the city center.
Donations are now being collected from companies on the territory of the municipality for the upcoming holiday, whose guest will be the beloved performer of good Bulgarian songs Nikolina Chakardukova. Participation has also been confirmed by a folk group from Poland, and music groups and dance groups from the municipality are intensively preparing to perform on the new stage. High-ranking guests are also expected.
