The new members of the Pazardjik constituency

28.06.2005 08:46 •
51% or 127,398 voters out of a total of 250,139 cast their vote in the June 25, 2005 election for MPs.
In 13 Pazardzhik constituency, the elections were won by Coalition for Bulgaria, which supported 39,058 people or 31.67% of those who voted. In second place is NMSS, which received 23,723 votes or 19.24%. In third position with 14,211 votes and 11.52% is DPS. The UDF was fourth with 12,701 votes and 10.30%. "Attack" followed with 9162 votes and 7.43%. The sixth position in the district is held by the BNS, for which 5.62% of the voters or 6928 people voted. In seventh place was DSB with a score of 5557 votes or 4.51%. Of the parties left out of parliament, the most votes were collected by "Euroroma" - 2.75% and the New Time - 2.72%. By Monday noon, the Regional Election Commission had not yet officially announced the allocation of mandates in the Pazardzhik region. The forecasts are that Coalition for Bulgaria takes 3 mandates and the current MP Georgi Pirinski, the Mayor of Peshtera Georgi Petarneichev and the coalition partner Iglika Ivanova enter the parliament. In the last National Assembly Coalition for Bulgaria there were two MPs from Pazardzhik region.
Of the previous five terms, the NMSS has reserved two - for Daniel Valchev, who leads the list in Dobrich, but will probably also choose Pazardzhik for the current MP Valentin Miltenov. If Daniel Valchev enters from Dobrich, and the third in the list Petya Gegova enters from another region, the former Deputy Minister of Economy Lyubka Kachakova may be in parliament.
One term was given to the DPS in the person of Fidel Beev. The movement made a breakthrough by broadcasting for the first time an independent MP from our region (in 1997. MP with votes of DPS became Arlin Antonov on behalf of the Unification for National Salvation). But in the course of the election campaign, the DPS made it clear that it was fighting for "several mandates". For now, however, the second in the list, Ahmed Hadjiyski, who is the district leader of the DPS, remains out of parliament.
Deputy with the list of ODS became the excme of Pazardzhik Dr. Ivan Kolchakov. On election night, he was among the first to demand that blue leader Nadezhda Mihailova resign because of the ODF's record poor performance. Mandate wins "Attack" with guide Dr. Petar Beron, who can also enter from the Sofia list and then in his place comes the lecturer Assoc. Stanislav Stanilov.
The last ninth term is in question and depends on the distribution of votes by the D'Ont method nationwide. The most likely to win the mandate is Nikolay Bozhilov from the BNS, but it is possible that he will go to DSB with leader Ekaterina Mihaylova or because of overflow of votes to be taken by one of the leading political forces. By Wednesday, when the CEC is expected to officially announce the allocation of seats in parliament, any surprises are possible. Let's recall how in the previous elections to the last DPS hoped for a mandate, but NDSV got it.
