POST The Excmet Tsvetan Dafov started working as Executive Director of the Association of Bulgarian Cities and Regions, which is based in Sofia. The association was established under the European People's Party. Dr. Dafov will combine the high post with the work as a municipal councilor in Velingrad.

PROJECTS The municipality will apply with two projects to "Beautiful Bulgaria": internal renovation of the community center "Otets Paisiy" in Ledgene and the home for elderly people "Ella". The participation will require about BGN 100,000 from the municipal treasury.

The Radio "CHLC" and the Child Protection Department at the Social Assistance Agency carried out a charity action for the sale of martenitsas. About 200 martenitsi were sold, the money raised will be used for children with whom the department works.

On Saturday, March 6, a district council of the UDF was held, in which the leadership of the blue party in Velingrad Dr. Cv. Dafov, T. Goncheva and Sh. Yakubov. In the vote for leader of the UDF list in Pazardzhik constituency for the parliamentary elections convincingly led Dr. Ivan Kolchakov with 18 votes, followed by Nikola Penchev with 9 votes and arch. Daniel Mirchev with one.

The amateurs marked March 1 as their professional holiday. On this date the Chitalishte in Sq. Chepino organized a concert, their colleagues from Ludgene and Draginovo had fun in the Chinars.

PLAN In connection with the preparation of the municipal development plan, there is hard work on committees. A timetable has been drawn up on which committees for the individual strands meet. Proposals and ideas from citizens and civic associations are also expected.

The Traffic Police handed out prizes to the children from kindergartens who took part in a drawing competition dedicated to traffic safety.

Since the beginning of March, the flu epidemic on the territory of the municipality of Velingrad has been cancelled. The authorities of HEI - Pazardzhik reported that the number of patients is already below the critical maximum.
