POWER Two velingradians remained in the high levels of power after the deputy ministers were appointed in the past week. Ivanka Hristova remained Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Policy from the quota of NDSV. The former Dean of the University of Forestry Assoc. Stefan Yurukov was the BSP's choice for deputy minister in the agriculture ministry. Assoc. Yurukov will be in charge of the important portfolio of forests.

A pre-election revival reigned at the celebration of Unification Day September 6. The celebration organized by the municipality was attended by many councillors, three of the mayoral candidates, the MP from DPS F. Beev. A word on the significance of the Unification was delivered by Mayor Atanas Vodev. The festive program was performed by the Representative Brass Orchestra and the cheerleading squad, who gathered applause with their new uniforms.

On September 13, the 76th anniversary of the birth of the world-famous opera singer Nikolay Ghiaurov is celebrated. In his native Velingrad, the date will be marked with a celebration at the Art Gallery on 13 September, Tuesday, at 5 pm.

The municipal company VKTV reports once again that as of September 1, 2005. the company begins charging interest on unpaid water bills. Interest will accrue on accounts that have not been paid by the 30th of the month. VKTV has sent over 2,000 warning letters to its biggest debtors.

The family of Mr. Hristo Denizov was imported on August 23 this year. a proposal to the municipality, with which it provides its dwelling on ul. "Rakovski" of fellow citizens in deadlock after the flood. Mr. Denizov reported that he had not yet received a response from the municipal leadership, but had not given up his noble intention to provide shelter to people who were left homeless after the disaster.

9 SEPTEMBER The anniversary of 9 September 1944. was celebrated in Velingrad with a celebration organized by BSP, BAS, the Union of War Veterans and SOSZ. In front of the monument of resistance a long speech was delivered by the President of BAS Kostadin Zlatev. With a minute's silence were honored those who died in the anti-fascist struggle. A wreath was presented on behalf of the BSP, and citizens left flowers in front of the monument.
