CLEAN The Municipal Council made a decision obliging Mayor Stoyan Dulev to appeal the verdict of the Pazardzhik District Court on one of the cases in connection with the garbage disposal of Velingrad. In this case, as v. "Tempo" has already written, the court ruled that the private company "Beev and Beev" Ltd. should not return to the municipality nearly 210,000 leva, which it received for garbage disposal in 2004. The municipality begins appealing the decision to a higher court.

BIRDS Because of the danger of bird flu, people are especially vigilant and report dead birds found. Last Sunday, a dead chicken in a private yard in Velingrad raised the responsible services, but it turned out that it was suffocated by a ferret that entered the chicken coop. On Monday, February 13, early in the morning in the yard of SOU "St. Cyril and Methodius" in Velingrad was found dead pigeon. According to specialists, his death was due to frostbite. Dorkovo was also alerted to two dead hens being examined.

SCHOOL The school in Sarnitsa will receive 81,000 leva from the municipal treasury if it wins the repair project with which it applies to the Social Investment Fund (SIF). The amount was approved by the Municipal Council on February 15.

ADVERTISING The municipality has only 6 contracts with companies that have placed their advertisements on the territory of Velingrad. However, for most of the advertising boards, banners and signboards in the resort nobody pays. Currently due to the expiration of the contract, the municipality does not receive any money for the big billboards either. At the session last week, Mayor Stoyan Dulev announced that it was high time to put order in advertising. In early March, the municipality will send warning letters to advertising firms. Those who do not pay dues under the Ordinance on placement of advertising and information materials will suffer sanctions, including forced removal of advertisements.

An interesting case arose in the case in the Supreme Court, filed by Sarnitsa City Hall against the Ministry of Environment and Water because of the selected concessionaires of a dam dospat. The trial began in the summer of last year and continues to be postponed. In the meantime, however, before the meeting in January, the mayor of Velingrad St. Dulev withdrew the complaint. The Supreme Court judges will now decide whether Sarnica City Hall has the legal right only to conduct the case after the municipality steps down. Sarnitsa Mayor Shukri Yakubov is determined to continue the litigation. The same is the position of the municipality of Dospat, which is pursuing a similar case against the MoEW.

State Voted was the state of the Municipal Administration - Velingrad, which numbered 106.5 units. A new structure was expected to be established by the end of February, but a decree of the Council of Ministers will be waiting to decide how the expected 10% cut will be implemented in our municipality.

SESSION A tough session of the local parliament is shaping up for February 23. From "MHAT-Velingrad" demand large sums from the municipal treasury, several private investors are waiting for construction decisions, there are also difficult decisions postponed by previous sessions. The councillors will have to decide what to do with the municipal cable radio, adopt a program to mark 50 years of creative activity of Nikolay Ghiaurov, start or reject again the sale of the dormitory in front of the hospital.
