Independence Day in Velingrad September 22 was celebrated with a celebration in front of the municipality building. Vrid Mayor Atanas Vodev in his speech praised the historic act of declaring Bulgaria's independence in 1908. The celebration ended with Bulgarian people performing the Representative Brass Orchestra and cheerleading squad.

On September 19, the annual Day of Dialogue was held in Pazardzhik. This year's theme was "Financial decentralization of municipalities - how to become a reality". Members of parliament and municipal council participated, and the chairman of the Municipal Council - Velingrad Nejat Kehayov raised the important question whether municipal development plans will be secured with funds.

The draft development plan for the South Central Region was discussed at a conference on 20 September in Plovdiv. The topic of the forum, in which the chairman of the Velingrad Municipal Council N. Kehayov, was "The European Union and the Development of the Regions". The promotion of organic farming was also discussed.
