CASE Another court hearing in the criminal case against the accused of taking a bribe from F. Beev Galya Kyuleva was scheduled to take place on January 27 in Pazardzhik. The case was postponed to February 23 due to the absence of Ms Kyuleva's lawyer Hari Haralampiev, who was in Libya at the same time in connection with the protection of Bulgarian nurses convicted.

NARCOTICS Employees of NSBOP detained in a specialized police action in Varvara three residents of Velingrad. At 27-year-old V. N. 50 grams of heroin were found. The three were detained for 24 hours.

PROJECTS The 13 Centuries of Bulgaria Fund approved two projects for Velingrad. The Union of Reserve Officers and Sergeants and the Agency for Regional Development-Center for Business and Information will jointly work on a project for the protection of soldiers' monuments, for which the fund allocates 6000 leva. For the renovation of the Art Gallery in the house of Tsveta Damyanova the fund gives 5000 leva and the municipality in the meantime votes another 3000 leva. Work on the two projects began in early February.

The commissioning of the second wing of Sulfur Bath is delayed because of bureaucratic obstacles related to the signing of the Acceptance Protocol by the office of the project "Beautiful Bulgaria". This was announced at a meeting in Kamenica by the director of the SBR-NK branch Velingrad Dr. Ilza Popova. Everything is being done to make the whole Sulfur Bath work as soon as possible, she assured.
