On June 11, the first meeting took place between the Municipality of Velingrad, represented by the Mayor Dr. Dafov and the Chief Architect Todor Enev, and the heirs of two restituted properties in the Cultural House from Maslarovi and Popovi families. New meetings will be held on 18 and 25 June. They are held after a decision of the Municipal Council of May, which launched a procedure for expropriation of private properties.

The property situation is complicated at the moment: the two families and the municipality are co-owners of the terrain on which the Cultural House is built, that is, neither of the owners can take any action without the consent of the others. The municipality is interested in looking for an investor for the abandoned for years construction, the heirs have also expressed the opinion that it is right that the Cultural House should finally be completed. However, the question is how to meet the interests of the municipality and private owners. The mayor's proposal was for replacement with municipal plots (in the area of Popin Kamak, next to the school in Kamenitsa, next to the Military Sanatorium or after a decision of the Expert Council - in the Velyova Banya Park or the tennis courts under the hotel "Velina"). According to the heirs, the replacements offered are not equivalent, as their properties are "on the navel" of the resort city. An option for paying the land was also discussed, but the municipality was not yet ready with a price (such a possible would have to designate a licensed appraiser). On the part of the heirs (some of them appeared at the meeting with a lawyer) an offer was made for the municipality to say the name of the future investor and they to negotiate with him independently.
