A six-member commission from the municipality, chaired by Diana Barakova from the Directorate "Inspectorate" made a check of the construction started next to the Women's Bath. The minutes of the commission were announced by Mayor Dr. Dafov at a press conference on April 10.
The inspection has shown that the concessionaires of Women's Bath "M and T Proychevi" made a trench on a terrain that under the terms of the concession contract is theirs. But construction for a pool has begun without the necessary construction papers: the municipality has given a sketch for research and design, but needs approval from the Institute of Monuments of Culture and only then will the municipality issue a construction permit, the mayor specified. In addition, no coordination has been made with the Electricity Supply, VKTV, BTC and the Landscaping Department in the municipality.
In the part of the trench are interrupted 6 pipelines, including a sewage pipe for the waste water from the Mineral Beach, a water pipe, a tap of a spring - 15 in the park, a mineral water pipe from the cisterns to the tavern "Omar" and others. In addition, telephone cable was cut, benches and ornamental shrubs were removed, park vegetation was wasted.
The recommendations of the commission are to immediately cut off the water supply of spring - 15 with a water hose, as this poses a danger of contamination. By April 15, drinking mineral water should be released from the spring as the power supply is carried out with a metal pipe. The collector sewer pipe should be completely renewed throughout the section and plantations should be restored in the area.
There will be no compromises, the municipality will defend its interests, Dr. Dafov was adamant. The deadline for solving the problems around the Women's Bath is 15 May this year, otherwise the commission insists that the excavation be buried and that the old position of the park be restored. We have to be ready for the resort season, especially in the area around the Beach, the manager of Sports Properties and Beaches Nikola Todev is adamant.
