The municipality gives "Markita" plots, receives agricultural land

At a session on July 9, the Municipal Council decided to replace 6 municipal plots around the Markita Hotel with 2 private agricultural estates in the localities of Kalishte and Marina Livada. The total area of the municipal plots is 2 810 sq.m. and of the properties of Markita Ltd. Plovdiv - 2 772 sq.m. The difference in quadratures will be paid by the Plovdiv company. The proposal for replacement was submitted by the mayor Dr. Dafov and after serious debates was supported by the committees on TSU and legality. In the hall a different opinion was expressed by BSP adviser Zavarin Marov. By law, we have the right to replace, but the Municipal Council should fix some limits, the cleaner deal is Markita to purchase from the municipality these plots, he said. According to Mr. Marov, the councillors have to answer their voters how the municipality replaces plots in regulation with agricultural land outside regulation, which already has plenty and wonders what to do with them. In view of the municipal interest, the councilor proposed to go for a sale option, although for Markita this will be more expensive.

There are no guarantees that Markita will win the eventual tender, and the owner wants to make serious investments, opposes Nikola Vecov. Ekaterina Kaferinova said that she was of Mr Marov's opinion, but a tender procedure would be delayed and the construction season would be missed, and the money would be the same in an auction. The owner of Markita has proved that he is a serious investor and that he can, supported the decision Dimitar Mechev. Mikhail Alexiev also spoke about the decision, but expressed doubts whether it is legal to give the area to the smelter. A final statement was made by Dr. Dafov, who explained that Mr. Marcho Yanakiev has the right to use mineral water in this zone. His intentions are not to build, because there is a swamp, but to restore the smelt in an authentic form, to make tennis courts and mini golf course. Markita Ltd. will also have to buy the surrounding private plots to fulfill these intentions. The mayor called for support of the decision, which will allow the best corner in Velingrad to be shaped there and tourists will come. 20 councillors voted for the replacement. Nikola Todev prophesied that it is very possible that this is another decision suspended by the regional governor.
