October 15 is the deadline within which the first installment for the participation of the Velingrad swimmers in the international student competition "Swimming Cup 2005" must be paid. The race will be held from 12 to 16 May next year in Palma de Mallorca.
In it, Bulgaria will present two teams of Velingrad schools - the boys from SOU "St. Sv. Cyril and Methodius” and the girls from Vasil Levski Secondary School. As in. "Tempo" has already written, this honor and responsibility our swimmers won after winning the national cup of school swimming competitions two years in a row.
This is a great success for the Veljengrad swimming school, for the coaches of the swimmers from the two schools - Velko Kleshkov, Anton Mitrov, Lyubov and Hristo Doxinovi and for the teachers of physical education, team leaders. With such a serious swimming base and funding in other municipalities, two Velingrad municipal schools triumphed for two years with the national cup. This, in turn, burdens the municipality with commitments in relation to the means of participation of the teams. The total amount is about 8000 leva. 1/3 of the money will be provided by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, 1/3 by the Sports in School Federation and 1/3 by the municipality.
The allocation of 1800 leva for the initial contribution from the municipal budget was discussed on October 8 at a meeting between the temporary mayor Stoyan Dulev, the chairman of the Municipal Council Nedzhat Kehayov, the chief expert "Education" Vanya Tsanova and the directors of the two schools Maria Polezhanska and Emil Mollov. The decision for municipal funding takes a load off the back of parents who have been "sponsors" of their children for years and thanks to their funds and care they have been playing sports. The delegation that will participate in the competition in Palma de Mallorca will include 15 people: 6 girls, 6 boys, two teachers-trainers and as head of the delegation the expert in physical education from Pazardzhik Mr. Katsarov. The names of the 12 swimmers who will participate will become clear at a later stage. Because some of the contestants who won the right to participate are already in another age group. But they have their followers in both schools, so there is no doubt about the worthy participation and presentation of Velingrad in Palma de Mallorca.
